Nobel Laureate Accuses Saudi Arabia of Deliberately Dividing Yemen
Human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has accused Saudi Arabia of a long-term policy to fragment Yemen, with the United Arab Emirates acting as its main agent.
In a social media statement, Karman said the current divisions mark “the culmination of years of deliberate policy.” She stated she has long believed “the driving force behind this project has been Saudi Arabia, while the United Arab Emirates has been the primary tool of its implementation.”
The remarks directly challenge the Saudi-led coalition's stated goal of restoring Yemen's unity during its military intervention.
