Karman Condemns Trump Remarks, Warns Against “Logic of Destruction” in U.S. Rhetoric
Human rights advocate and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman has sharply criticized recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, describing them as a dangerous reflection of a mindset that normalizes the destruction of nations and cultures in pursuit of global dominance.
In a post published on her official Facebook page, Karman asserted that Trump’s remarks about “wiping out Iranian civilization” are “not merely a slip of the tongue,” but rather “a dangerous expression of an arrogant mentality that sees the destruction of peoples and cultures as a legitimate option for achieving hegemony.”
She further stated that such threats reveal what she described as “moral and political bankruptcy,” arguing that they confirm the continued dominance of “the logic of brute force” in the policies of the world’s most powerful country, instead of adherence to the principles of international and humanitarian law.
Karman also criticized what she referred to as Trump’s “fascist team,” saying they have “forgotten that peoples are not defeated by bombing, nor subjugated by genocide.” She emphasized that history offers “ample evidence” that those who attempt to crush civilizations ultimately fail, while the targeted peoples endure.
Reiterating her position, Karman declared: “Once again, I condemn the genocide and barbarity being perpetrated against the Iranian people,” while affirming her “unwavering support for their revolution and their struggle for freedom and liberation from the mullahs’ regime.”
Her remarks come amid heightened regional tensions and reflect growing concern over the impact of inflammatory political rhetoric on international stability and the protection of civilian populations.
