ISTANBUL (Reuters) – The Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman called on the international community to press Saudi officials for the journalist's disappearance after he entered the kingdom's consulate in Istanbul.

ISTANBUL - By Zehra Melek: The winner of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize on Monday called for the international community to pressure Saudi officials about a journalist's s disappearance after he entered its Istanbul consulate.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman said that if Saudi journalist and writer Jamal Khashoggi was killed in Saudi Arabia after his abduction, that would provide further evidence that “the kingdom of terrorism is dying.”

The Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman condemned the attack by Houthis militia on female students at Sana’a University and the detention of many female students, describing that as barbaric. 

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman participated in a sit-in held by the Turkish and Arab media on Friday in front of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in solidarity with Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was interrupted after his consular review a few days ago.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner Tawakkol Karman has written a letter to Iraqi activist Nadia Murad, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for 2018.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate Tawakkol Karman congratulated Iraqi activist Nadia Murad and Congolese doctor Denis Mukwege on winning the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize.
